What will we support?
Positions in a production company where the employee is being trained up in a crew position for which there is a demonstrated need within Queensland. The positions are available only for Queensland-based practitioners being employed by productions occurring within Queensland. The positions currently supported include the following (companies may present an argument for a position not included in the following list, which will be taken into consideration):
· Script co-ordinator
· Directing attachment
· APOC (assistant production office co-ordinator)
· Assistant location manager
· Assistant production accountant
· Camera assistant
· Assistant Standby Wardrobe
· Assistant editor
· Assistant VFX editor
· Assistant sound mixer
· Video Link Operator
· Assistant Script Supervisor
· Assistant Standby Propos
Who may apply?
Queensland based practitioners are eligible. Applications may be made by a production company or the SPV outlining the position being offered, the terms and conditions, and duration of the position. The application needs to be made prior to the commencement of employment. Projects in receipt of a Production Incentive are not eligible to apply for a production attachment.
The application needs to be received and approved before commencement of employment and applicants should be aware of Screen Queensland's standard 6-8 week assessment period for all applications.
How will we select attachments?
Strong emphasis will be placed on value of the position being offered and its relevance to enhancing the career path of the attachment.
Applicants will submit:
· a position description from the production company;
· a letter of intent from the production company to engage the attachment conditional upon the attachment being granted;
· CVs of the attachment.
How many attachments will be funded?
The maximum allocation for this portion of the programme is $100,000 per financial year. Production attachments will be offered at up to 50% of the salary capped at $10,000 each. A production may not receive more than two (2) production attachments and no more than one (1) per department. The production attachment takes the form of a grant to meet part of the attachment's costs of employment including salary, and will be paid to the production company at the conclusion of the employment period.
Screen Queensland expects that the production company will match or better Screen Queensland's contribution to the attachment's salary, and that the crew rates comply with industry standards and union/guild minimums.
Screen Queensland will require that the production budget identifies the specific role under which the attachment is employed.
Screen Queensland will contract with the production's SPV and not the Producer's parent company.
