This all day seminar presented by The Australian Writers’ Guild, Inscription and AFTRS will identify and explore the three essential principles of storytelling that form the bedrock of the UCLA screenwriting syllabus.

PITCHFEST: On Wednesday 16 March 2011, starting at 6.30pm, there will be a Pitchfest at The Edge at the State Library of Queensland to hear local filmmakers pitch their work. Entry is free.

If you attend the lecture, you can win half a day’s coaching from Richard Walter and Marcus West (www.marcuswest.tv) to hone your pitch and then be one of the filmmakers to pitch at Pitchfest. You can enter your film title and logline (one sentence description of the film) into a hat on the day, and the filmmaker with the most promising project will be selected to pitch on the night.

ABOUT RICHARD WALTER: Richard Walter is a celebrated storytelling guru, movie industry expert, and longtime chairman of UCLA’s graduate screenwriting program in the Department of Film, Television and Digital Media. His numerous books on screenwriting include The Whole Picture: Strategies for Screenwriting Success in the New Hollywood and Screenwriting: The Art, Craft and Business of Film and Television Writing and has delivered lectures and masterclasses on screenwriting and storytelling throughout the world.
