UPDATE: Supplementary round announced for December 2011

With domestic production levels increasing in Queensland, Screen Queensland is experiencing increased pressure on funding. Due to the high number of applications for non-documentary production funding already received for the current financial year, Screen Queensland’s board has resolved to ensure a spread of funds to productions over the year in its management of the organisation’s resources, allowing it to be responsive to emerging opportunities while having funds available year-round.

For that purpose, Screen Queensland will consider applications for the remaining funds in the production programme to be decided in two funding rounds, with the first round in August 2011 and the second in early February 2012.

Applications already received by the deadline for the August board meeting will be considered in light of the programme criteria and the available funds at that meeting.

Applications for consideration at the February 2012 board meeting will be open from 1 October 2011, closing Monday 5 December 2011, and will be considered in light of the programme criteria and the available funds at that meeting.

This means that not all applications to each round can be guaranteed of success.

Should additional funds become available for the production programme during the year, a further announcement will be made.
