24th WARNER ROADSHOW STUDIOS QUEENSLAND NEW FILMMAKERS AWARDS
Presented by Screen Queensland, the Warner Roadshow Studios Queensland New Filmmakers Awards recognises and encourages the achievements of emerging Queensland filmmakers. It is fully industry sponsored and the biggest new filmmaker competition in the country.
Over the last 23 years, judges have viewed over 2,000 films and presented over 350 awards of excellence, with a prize pool totaling almost $500,000. Previous QNFA winners have been showcased at national and international film festivals, including the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Winners include Ivan Sen, director of Beneath Clouds, which won Best Director at the Berlin Film Festival and at both the AFI and IF Awards, and Michael and Peter Spierig, who have enjoyed international success with their feature films Undead and Daybreakers.

Tertiary entries: Danni Zuvela, Bruce Redman, Wayne Denning, Elizabeth Symes, Alex Daw, Patrick McDonald, Daryl Sparkes (No tertiary films are judged by any representatives from tertiary institutions with film schools – i.e. QUT, Griffith or Bond)
Independent entries: Della Churchill, Alex Chomicz, Kelly Chapman, Herman van Eyken
Preliminary judging takes place in the Screen Queensland office from Tuesday 11 May – Thursday 13 May. Finalists are determined from these days.
