Essential crew tips and advice when applying for production work | Print |

Screen Queensland has put together a list of Essential Crew Tips following recent feedback from overseas contacts, who were a little taken back by some of their crew interview experiences!

So, think about these CV tips when you are making contact with local and international productions being filmed in Queensland.

SUBMITTING YOUR CVs: Ask yourself, "does my CV sell me?"

  • Save CVs with your name, position and year - this makes it easy for your potential employer to file and re-find you.
  • Format your CV well - ensure it is both readable and looks smart
  • Provide CVs as PDF documents (Word documents can reformat depending on the recipient's default page settings and page size)
  • Spell check!
  • Ensure you include your most recent credits
  • Aside from the title of project you worked on, include the position you held, type of project, year it filmed, the names of the director, producer studio/production company etc.
  • Ensure your references are current and relevant (also ensure they are best prepared for calls by telling them where you are sending your CV)
