StudiosQueensland boasts a wide variety of studio space and water tanks including large purpose built studio space, television studios and blue/green screen stages. The State is home to the world class Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast, only 40 minutes south of Brisbane. These studios have eight purpose built soundstages, three water tanks (including a 131.24ft x 98.43ft / 40m x 30m outdoor tank, the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere), wardrobe, make-up, production offices, a preview theatrette, post production facilities, paint and carpentry workshops, commissary and a processing laboratory. Sound stage 5 has the tank facility available for any underwater sequences or an extra 8ft of height for set builds. The sound stage has a removable floor with a deep water tank beneath it. The water tank has three viewing ports, a weir wall, and circulating pump and is fitted with 1000 gallon dump tanks, automated wave makers and air compressors. When filled the water can be heated and filtered. The Studios have also constructed an exterior tank on the lot. Global Television, ABC Television, Channel Seven and Channel Nine have television studio facilities available. WarehousesWarehouse facilities are available in most areas of Queensland and could be used for production office space and set builds. This option has been used for previous lower budget productions.
