Local Councils

The Film-Friendly Pathways Programme was launched to Local Government in March 2010 at the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) Infrastructure and Planning Conference. The Programme serves to inform Council stakeholders about the Queensland screen industry and foster collaboration between the industry, private sector partners, residents and visitors.

The initiative will be implemented over a number of phases with Screen Queensland communicating each phase as it is rolled out.  It is proposed these phases will include steps such as providing key contact points at Council for filming enquiries, providing loading zone permits and adopting ‘film-friendly' planning schemes.

To find out which Council governs the area in which you're looking to shoot, go to the Department of Infrastructure and Planning local government directory.

State Government Departments

Screen Queensland is currently working with major State Government Departments such as the Department of Environment and Resource Management (which manages National Parks and Unallocated State Land) to further implement the Film-Friendly Pathways Programme.
