Presented by Screen Queensland the Village Roadshow Studios QNFA is the longest-running industry sponsored new filmmaker competition in the country, recognising and encouraging the achievements of emerging Queensland filmmakers.

The 2011 awards are now open for entries, closing 27 September 2011.

The QNFA competition accepts entries of short films from secondary student productions, tertiary student productions and independent filmmakers.

Films submitted to QNFA are judged on creativity, originality and technical competence, with a selection of finalists films screened at the public screening event. Sponsored prizes and awards are then presented to individuals for various craft categories as well as overall awards, at the QNFA presentation ceremony gala event.
