Deadline:

Friday 2 March 2012 for events taking place in the year commencing 1 July 2012.

To engage and inform audiences; engage Queensland practitioners; facilitate cultural activity, debate and peer contact; and promote an understanding of the Queensland and Australian screen production industry within the broader international context.

Applicants are encouraged to discuss their application with the relevant Project Manager prior to submitting an application to Screen Queensland.

What will we support?

Events and projects based in Queensland or linked with Queensland organisations and practitioners (in any format or on any platform) such as:

  • film festivals and screenings at public events, particularly in Queensland regional areas, events that are designed to participate in activity related to the Brisbane International Film Festival and niche film events that are seeking support to build their audiences;
  • visits by leading filmmakers and projects of significance to screen practitioners that foster debate, discussion and peer contact.

Who may apply?

Any individual, business or organisation providing benefits to Queensland audiences and practitioners.

How will we select projects?

Funding decisions will be based primarily on demonstration that the project achieves the purpose of this programme in a significant and measurable way.

Decisions will be based on the following criteria, at the discretion of Screen Queensland, and will be determined competitively in one annual round each year:

  • track record of the applicant;
  • evidence of community need, interest and support;
  • evidence of industry need, interest and support;
  • level of other financial support;
  • sound business and marketing planning, where relevant;
  • previous performance of similar events.

How much will be provided and in what form?

The amount provided for each event will be determined by Screen Queensland on a case by case basis.  Funding is in the form of a non-repayable grant.
